The Felt Elephants

That's the title of the book I just completed. Here are a few from the 16 s I have done. I think I would do a better job if I have an extra few days. I always encounter problem getting the "true" colours in the scanned illos and I reckon the images lost about 10 to 15% of the details, especially the watercolour effect. Can any reader out there can recommend a scanner, a printer or any solution to the problem? Leave me a comment. Thanks!

Hi Christine! Thanks for stopping by to say Hi, it has been a while since I've visited you too. (must remember to come back again soon).

These illos are just gorgeous! The story reminds me so much of spending time with my Grandma when I was young. I just love them. You've captured it all so perfectly!

Now, the scanner I use is called the Epson Perfection V700. I got it a couple of years back now (almost 2). It was kind of on the pricey side, but I got it through my boss, as he had made a mistake with my pay and owed me money, so I got him to buy me this instead. Anyway, it's been a really great scanner. Sometimes it's a bit too good and the texture of the paper I use comes out too clearly and overwhelms the illo. But the colours are spot on! And it does a really nice job with the watercolour. (It has 2 globes instead of 1, and apparently this is what makes the difference).

Anyway, I hope this helped. Good luck with your search!

Hi Christine, I like your illustrations very much. Keep on sharing! Have you considered using Photoshop or GIMP (free on internet) to increase the colour saturation?
Take care.
