What's cooking mummy?
I am in the mood to cook. Last night I made English Shepherd's Pie. A change from the regular rice and noodle, which my kids and myself are getting bored with. Since Jon has been away three quarter of the time, our diet has been Chinese primarily. Occasionally we have Italian (pasta, I mean) and that's about it. I yearn for something savoury yet easy to make so I can take the kids for a swim.We had some mince from our favourite butcher. Initially I was going to make beef burger. Then I realised I haven't have enough meat for all of us and I already made that last week. So the solution: a pie.
It turned better than I expected. For a first-timer, I am proud of my creation. And the kids finished their tea without any hassle.
Jon's coming home from KL this evening. I hope he can make it. He had a car accident and had to make some police report. He's not hurt but the car was wrecked. I am going to make something special tonight: Orange Couscous with Baked Fish in Garlic and Herb. If I have enough time, I got to take the kids to Bedok Reservoir opposite our place to watch the Wakeboarding Competition.
Hope your weekend had been a stupendous one too.
